xDesign Opens Office in Leeds, Actively Recruiting to Create 100 New Jobs in Region by 2023
FinTech North Partner xDesign, an award-winning independently and owner-operated product and software engineering company with over 100 employees, has today announced its new office opening in Leeds, with plans to help accelerate growth and create jobs in the region over the next three years.
The North’s tech ecosystem is poised for an exciting period of continued growth and innovation, and with the presence of organisations like the NHS, Flutter Entertainment Group, MoneySuperMarket, and others, it’s clear that the national and international tech community have taken notice of the top talent and resources that the region has to offer.
With its expansion into the area, Edinburgh Headquartered xDesign – a leading provider of expert engineering and cross-functional Agile product teams for software development and delivery – is looking forward to joining this electrifying community, with plans to help support and accelerate its growth by creating 100 jobs in the region, and by continuing to provide high quality, UK-based teams to new and existing clients to further support digital innovation in the area.
The expansion is part of xDesign’s three-year growth plan to become the leading technology partner for the UK’s most exciting and well-known brands, as the company continues building its presence across the nation’s tech communities. xDesign chose the North of England as the first base outside of its main Edinburgh headquarters partly due to the striking similarities between the tech business environments here and in Scotland. But as Managing Director, Euan Andrews, explains, the company’s plans for growth will always be directly informed, and propelled, by local and regional communities:
“Opening a new office in Leeds is core to our overall growth strategy that sees xDesign opening offices and creating jobs throughout the UK, and it’s most critical for us to plan this expansion thoughtfully with a focus on how we can best support local businesses and talent. It’s important to us that we find people to work with and collaborate with who have regional and local insight and expertise, because we know how crucial that knowledge is to building a solid community, which is our Number One priority as we work to make meaningful contributions to the area.”
xDesign’s focus on supporting and accelerating growth in the North has already begun taking shape: it has strong connections within the region, and has appointed Matt Ward as its Head of Northern England to lead the expansion into the area. Ward, long-time Yorkshire businessman and resident, and the former Head of Deloitte’s Market Gravity in the North of England, explains:
“I’m thrilled to be leading this expansion. As an area resident and professional, I know how vibrant the tech community is here, and I’ve had the pleasure of working with the area’s incredible talent, firsthand. Continuing to build xDesign’s community in the North is something we’re all very much looking forward to.”
To facilitate its expansion, xDesign has selected Bruntwood Scitech’s Platform in Leeds as its launchpad in the North, where the local community has warmly welcomed the business and expressed excitement about the future of xDesign’s contributions to the region. Councillor Jonathan Pryor, Leeds City Councils executive member for economy, culture and education, adds:
“We are pleased to welcome xDesign into our thriving tech and digital community and are proud the company has chosen Leeds as its first base outside of Scotland. The product and software engineering company are already looking to recruit to their new office and we are very pleased to see over 100 exciting job opportunities open up for local people to work with some of the UK’s most exciting and well-known brands in this space.”
As hiring for roles in the North gets underway, xDesign looks forward to working with the deep pool of top talent driving the region’s success. With ongoing relationships with some of the nation’s most recognisable and fastest-growing brands, including Heineken, Tesco Bank, Rothschild, PayPal, and others; and with strong links in the region already established to businesses such as MoneySuperMarket, there’s never been a better time to join xDesign’s expert team of creative, collaborative professionals to work on the cutting edge of digital development and delivery.
Currently, junior and senior-level roles for engineers, designers, and internal talent acquisition specialists are open to applicants in the North of England. Remote and hybrid flexible work options are available.
