Applications to participate in Morgan Stanley’s Inclusive Ventures Lab open now
FinTech North is delighted to support global leading investment banking firm, Morgan Stanley with the promotion of its new in-house start-up accelerator aimed at underrepresented founders, the Inclusive Ventures Lab. Applications are now open to participate in this years’ cohort.
Incepted on the back of a Morgan Stanley survey that found investors reported capitalising underrepresented businesses at 80% less than business overall, ultimately translating into roughly $4.4 trillion in missed opportunity, the Inclusive Ventures Lab is designed to provide access to capital and connections for early-stage technology and technology-enabled companies led by underrepresented founders.
Since the launch of the Inclusive Ventures Lab in 2017; a total of 69 companies have participated, with said organisations receiving over $207 million in additional funding, translating to a combined $782 million valuation.
Each year, Morgan Stanley take a new cohort onboard the Inclusive Ventures Lab programme. The participating companies receive the following:
- Curated curriculum: The Lab customises a curriculum for each start-up, including finance & sales strategy, marketing & branding, and private sessions with industry experts
- Mentorships that make a difference: Morgan Stanley pairs each startup with hand-picked mentors who provide advice and counsel to help each company grow and scale its business.
- Powerful networks: Morgan Stanley will introduce startups to its bankers, financial advisors, technology experts and others who can connect each company to their industry networks. Morgan Stanley also give access to potential clients and the investor ecosystems at large.
- Showcase and demo day: Morgan Stanley’s five-month programe culminates with a Demo Day during which all participants can present to a network of investors, potential business partners and customers, who could help take their companies to the next level.
