University Centre Leeds launch ‘Fundamentals of Financial Technology’ up-skilling course: Deadline ends 26th February
We’re delighted to share news from our University Centre Leeds, members of our strategic partners Luminate Education Group, who have launched the first FinTech specific course developed as a result of the FinTech Skills Report, titled Fundamentals of Financial Technology.
It is a fully-funded course, open to individuals aged 19+ living or working in West Yorkshire and to those employed in business, schools and local authorities.
The Fundamentals of Financial Technology introductory course is designed for professionals in the finance or technology sectors who want to up-skill and understand the key innovations driving the FinTech industry, as well as individuals from other industries seeking to transition into FinTech. Through a blend of foundational theory and hands-on activities, participants will explore how technologies like blockchain, artificial intelligence, and digital payments are transforming financial services.
By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to apply FinTech knowledge in various roles and departments across finance and technology organisations.

- Digital Payments and Banking
- Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning in Finance
- Regulatory Technology and Cybersecurity

Start date: Wednesday 26th February – Wednesdays (9.30am-2.30pm) online over six weeks.
The course is free subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
*Eligibility: You must be aged 19+ (on or before 31st August 2024) and live in West Yorkshire. Must not be in full time education or undertaking an apprenticeship at the time of joining.
