FinTech Scotland launch innovation challenge to address Financial Crime: Applications Open Now



Our friends at FinTech Scotland are putting out another call out for their Financial Regulation Innovation Lab, designed to address Financial Crime.

FinTech Scotland are looking to hear from innovative organisations with creative ideas and trailblazing solutions dedicated to helping financial services companies tackle financial crime and fraud.

Financial crime and fraud are complex challenges, and without collaboration one extremely difficult to tackle. FRIL is launching an innovation programme underpinned by challenge statements provided by leading organisations across financial, telecommunications and technology sectors.  

Successful applicants will get the opportunity to:

– Work alongside some of the leading financial services firm in the UK, across the domain of financial crime and fraud: BT, Morgan Stanley, Abrdn, HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group, TSB, Virgin Money, Barclays, Equifax, Fujitsu and Dudley Building Society. 

– Learn from them about their challenges, their ways of working and how to best integrate your solutions within their businesses.

– Deepen your understanding of the complex environment of financial crime and fraud from a range of leading organisations.

– Learn about what tools and technology financial services are.

FinTech Scotland welcome applications from solutions that can solve the challenges put forward by the industry, with applications open to companies at all stages for development that can help tackle these complex topics.

Our industry partners have shared with us challenge statements they would like to see solutions explore, key themes include:

– Maximising efficiencies in customer onboarding and identity verification

– Harnessing data to detect evolving typologies of financial crime and fraud

– Facilitating the proactive and secure sharing of intelligence

– Future proofing systems and controls against financial crime

– Strengthening operational efficiencies in alert dis-positioning
