FinTech North Returns to Leeds for 8th Annual Conference
FinTech North is delighted to announce our return to Leeds for our 8th annual conference in the city, hosted in partnership with Leeds Building Society, Lenvi and Mastercard.
2024 truly feels like a year to celebrate with 119 events under our belt, and the continuation of our Leeds Conference after so many consecutive years, truly representative of the flourishing FinTech scene within the region.
This milestone moment reflects growth, not only within the organisation and community, but also within the sector as a whole.
This May, we take to the iconic Cloth Hall Court, which was once the centre of Leeds’ flourishing textile trade; today, it plays host to a celebration of everything excellent about FinTech in Yorkshire, one of the main drivers of our economy today. Cloth Hall Court has played host to some amazing FTN events down the years, including last year’s record breaking Leeds Conference which saw 250 attendees across the day. We can’t wait to return to shine a well-deserved spotlight on all the fantastic work that is going on in the region.
With over 100 FinTechs contributing to an annual GVA exceeding £700 million, Leeds stands at the core of a flourishing FinTech ecosystem in West Yorkshire. Recent arrivals of significant institutions like the Bank of England, the FCA, and the UK Infrastructure Bank further underscore the city’s growing prominence in the sector, making it a very exciting time for the industry in Leeds.
Moreover, Leeds boasts diverse specialisations within FinTech, including banking, lending, and RegTech. With numerous building societies and universities anchoring in the area, there’s no denying that Leeds serves as a distinguished centre of excellence in the realm of FinTech.
