FinTech North Gears up for a Jam-Packed Autumn of Events

The first half of 2024 has seen record engagement for FinTech North, as we finished on a high before summer with our biggest and best Newcastle Conference yet. A feedback survey following the event revealed that attendees praised the conference’s networking and knowledge-building opportunities, giving the event an impressive overall rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars and a fantastic NPS score of 48.

Summer is peak planning season at FinTech North, and our team have been hard at work curating a stellar line-up of events for Q3 and 4 as they return for Autumn.

As the calendar quickly comes together, we’re looking for sponsors and partners to support our work and make our events a success. If you are interested in working with us on our upcoming events or looking to use FinTech North as a platform to support your business development strategy, now is a great time to get in touch. The first event to bring the community together after summer will be a private Funding Forum at Wellington Place in Leeds, on the 19th of September, hosted in partnership with Squire Patton Boggs, LegalTech in Leeds, and WYCA. The event is set to bring together FinTechs, LegalTechs, and Venture Capital (VC) organisations for an investor and fundraiser-focused event, featuring a reverse-pitching session to hear what some of the region’s most prominent investors are looking for.

Following this, Fintech North heads west, making their return to Barclays’ Radbroke Campus in Cheshire for their North West FinTech Forum on the 1st of October for a morning dedicated to showcasing the Northwest FinTech ecosystem and Barclays’ tech innovation. The event is set to cover topics including partnerships, security, customer centricity, trends in AI, CBDCs, Cloud products, North West FinTech founder stories and more.

The Forum promises to be highly engaging with interactive sessions, including an ‘ask me anything’ segment with Barclays experts specialising in Cloud Services and Data Platforms, as well as an audience Q&A to close the event.

On October 10th & 11th, FinTech North will debut an exciting all new event: its first-ever two-day Northern FinTech Summit, set to take place at York’s iconic Guildhall. This landmark event, in partnership with Rise, created by Barclays, Barclays Eagle Labs and the University of York promises to be a game-changer for the Northern FinTech community, bringing everyone together under one roof to celebrate and explore the North’s booming FinTech scene.

With a packed agenda, the summit will delve into key themes over two dynamic days—covering market trends and people on Day 1, and diving into money and technology & product innovation on Day 2. But the excitement doesn’t stop there: for the first time, FinTech North is introducing an evening networking extravaganza at another iconic location in York: Lendal Cellars, right next door to the Guildhall. This social event is designed to supercharge connections and collaborations within the community, and will be bigger and better than ever.

On the 21st of November, FinTech returns to a historic landmark location that needs no introduction: Whitworth Hall at the University of Manchester for their final flagship conference of the year. Last year, the conference was FinTech North’s biggest ever event to date, and we’re set to smash the record again, expanding to Christie’s Bistro for more dedicated networking space than ever. With the agenda close to completion and seven stellar sponsors on board, FinTech North are excited to announce this year’s themes, including: AI and Data, the Future of Banking, the Future of Payments, Diversity in FinTech, Skills in FinTech, and more.

Next, on the 3rd of December, FinTech North make their return to Merseyside, for a FinTech for Good Forum hosted in partnership with DTM Legal and Bruntwood SciTech for an afternoon of ESG insights and networking.

Finally, FinTech North are set to close the year with a bang for a North East Christmas social in Hull, to network with the community, celebrate a successful year and look forward to what 2025 holds!

Tickets are on sale for our Northern Summit and Manchester Conference, with the other events soon to be released. Keep an eye out on our websites for updates and opportunities to get involved – we hope to see you soon.
