FinTech Alliance to host investor-focused networking session in Leeds – 21st February
FinTech North is delighted to support our partners FinTech Alliance with their upcoming event, Connecting Leeds: FinTech Alliance Community Meet-up.
We think this event should be of interest to those FinTech organisations in our community who are actively fundraising and want to network with funding and investment experts from across the North.
Supported by FinTech Growth Fund (FGF), FinTech North and Barclays Eagle Labs, the event will bring together founders, funding and investment experts from across the North together to develop connections and grow their professional networks.
The Connecting Leeds: FinTech Alliance Community meet-up will feature a keynote from Phil Vidler, Managing Partner, FinTech Growth Fund and a fireside chat with Phil Smith, Non Executive Chairman, FinTel and Guy Tolhurst, Founder, MICAP, covering what’s important for FinTechs to be aware of when building and selling their businesses from the perspective of an investor.
Taking place at Barclays Eagle Labs’ Avenue HQ facility in Central Leeds from 17:30-20:00, the event will lay claim to representatives from the FGF investor base which includes Natwest, Barclays and Peel Hunt, the public sector and various Northern FinTech organisations.
The Connecting Leeds: FinTech Alliance Community Meet-up will also celebrate an important milestone for the FinTech Growth Fund – the launch of their ‘Beyond Investing’ programme – which will consist of several initiatives focused on national connectivity, support for early-stage founders and talent, diversity, equality and inclusion.
This aligns to a key founding ethos of FGF, which is to support the UK FinTech sector and give back where possible – ultimately delivering impact beyond capital deployment, setting a new standard for what should be achievable through Venture Capital.
