FinTech North News and Regional FinTech Developments

Introducing FinTech Summer Skills Development Programme: Calling all FinTech employers!

Leeds Beckett University are excited to be working with FinTech North to promote the Summer Graduate Programme. This four-year strong initiative is designed to connect soon-to-be graduates with professional development opportunities in the West Yorkshire region.

Developing FinTech talent in the North of England is a key priority for FinTech North. Partnering with Leeds Beckett University on initiatives like this helps us connect graduates with industry opportunities, strengthening the region’s skills pipeline and future workforce.

This year, the Summer Graduate Programme will offer students from a broad range of courses across the University the chance to develop the skills that are in high demand in FinTech and participate in short placements with FinTech companies. It’s all about giving students the essential skills and hands-on experience they need to kickstart their careers in this growing industry.

Here’s how the Summer Graduate Programme works: Students will start with a ‘Get Ready for Work’ week at the end of May at Leeds Beckett University, followed by an ‘Introduction to FinTech Skills’ module created by FinTech North. After this initial training, they’ll jump into delivering a short project with FinTech companies (50 hours throughout the first three weeks in June) where they can put their new knowledge and skills to the test in real-world settings.

Why Should FinTech Employers Get Involved?

– Bridge the Gap: Help connect academic learning with industry needs

– Build your talent pipeline: Access graduates ready to bring their skills and knowledge to your company.

– New Perspectives: Gain insights from graduates who are up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies

– No Cost: The programme and placements are fully funded, and students receive a bursary.

– Workforce Development: Play a part in preparing the next generation of FinTech professionals.

The placements will run during the first three weeks of June, and we’re now accepting project proposals from interested FinTech companies.
